What badminton actually demands

Lunge depth and recoveryDeep front-court lunges and a fast push back to base, rally after rally, without the knee caving in.
Split-step reactionElastic, quick first steps in every direction. We train reactive jumps and change of direction, not just slow lifts.
Jump smash powerVertical power you can repeat. Force plates show how much force you produce and how quickly.
Rotation and shoulder healthTrunk rotation that drives the racket, and a shoulder strong enough to handle thousands of overheads.
Landing controlSingle-leg landings after smashes and scissor kicks, the moments where ankles and knees get hurt.
Left vs right balanceBadminton is one-sided. We measure asymmetry between legs and keep it from turning into an injury.

FAQ

Will strength training make a badminton player slower?

No. Done right it makes them faster. We use explosive, low-volume strength work and plyometrics, and keep heavy training away from tournament weeks.

What age can junior players start?

Most juniors start between 10 and 13 with bodyweight, landing and coordination work, then add load as they mature. Every program starts with an assessment.

How often should they train with you during the season?

Usually 1 to 2 sessions a week alongside club practice, more in the off-season. We plan around your tournament calendar.

Where do sessions happen?

At our gym inside Evo Sports Club, 2790 El Camino Real in Santa Clara, about 5 miles from Cupertino. Small group or 1-on-1.
